Our Vision
Equipping the Church, Engaging the Culture, Expanding the Kingdom
Equipping the Church
This is where we, as a body of believers, will put down roots in our relationship with Christ.
The stronger the roots, the healthier the tree! The church must become strong, so that we have a solid base
which will enable us to be effective for Him.
Prayer
It is FOUNDATIONAL – Jesus said, This is how you should pray, ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven’” (Matthew 6:9-10) We will look to God for direction and depth.
Obedience
It is TRANSFORMING – Jesus gave us the Great Commission to “Teach them to obey all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:20) The more we learn (the deeper we grow), the more confident we become in teaching others.
Love
It is MULTIPLYING – Jesus told us to “Love God, Love Others.” (Matthew 22:29 paraphrase) If you want to see people grow in their relationship with Christ love them where they are at and help them grow in their love for God. Invest your life in someone and they will in turn invest their life in someone, and it will go on and on!
Engaging the Culture
This is where, we, as a body of believers, will go out into our community to reach others for Christ through meeting their needs, building relationships, and being the salt & light in the world around us.
Fulfill the Great Commission
Outreach – in Matthew 28:19 Jesus says to, "Go and make disciples of all the nations"
(Henrico, New Kent, Charles City, and the surrounding area). The key word here is “GO.”
This is where we tell our story of how God changed our lives.
Give HOPE to a Lost & Dying World
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son"–
for you, for me, and for all those who have no hope – We are going to take that HOPE into the world around us.
Be “Others” Focused
The first line in Rick Warren’s book, Purpose Drive Life says, “It is not
about me.” He is right – it is not about us – it is about “us” pointing people to “CHRIST.”
Live Out Love
Wherever we are, whatever we are doing, we are going to LOVE people where they
are and love them all the way to the foot of the cross
